A baker’s dozen of Members together with partners and friends went on a Rob-McEwan-organised trip to the Chester Cathedral advent Carol service—together with some retail therapy. The tedium of the coach journey was relieved by food and wine and the outward leg involved a stop at the Trafford Centre. Following an early dinner we went, by coach, to the cathedral. The service (lit only by candles) was uplifting and the choir superb.

Afterwards the party split into three—those who decided to walk back to the hotel checking out the hostelries en route, those who rode back to the hotel and then went to explore the local watering holes, and those who thought there were too many unsavory characters around and adjourned to the hotel bar.

The next morning was devoted to shopping with an early afternoon start to the journey home. One of our members acquired a large (very large) coffee table which took up much of the coach luggage area. Thanks from all who went to Rob for a very enjoyable outing.
