The Rotary Club of Alford & Mablethorpe joined with friends and supporters last weekend to host ‘Cream Teas’ on the lawn of Alford Manor House in aid of Ukranian refugees of conflict and for displaced victims of disaster.
The impromptu event raised almost £1,000 for the Ukranian refugee appeal and £300 for the Rotary’s Disaster Appeal, which the Club will supplement to purchase a ‘Shelterbox’ for displaced victims of the dreadful flooding in Pakistan.
The Rotarians wish to thank everyone who supported the event, especially the Civic Trust for making the Alford Manor House facilities available, their catering manager, Maggie, for overseeing the baking of lots of fresh scones and the several delightful young people of the town who served tea to the guests.
