Talk from the Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Service (LIVES)

Once a month we invite a speaker to join our meeting and give a talk. Tonight we heard from Debbie Sutcliffe who is a volunteer for LIVES, the Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Service.

LIVES has over 700 trained volunteers attending, on average, 55 emergencies each day across the county. Thanks to their rapid response capability, and despite our rural location, we have a significantly better chance of being resuscitated in Lincolnshire than the rest of the country. Last year 99 people found not to be responding were ‘brought back to life’ by LIVES volunteers.

Like all voluntary groups LIVES requires more volunteers (training is provided) and of course donations, the service costs around £2 Million a year to fund.
