This week we were joined by Sue Fortune, CEO of the Lincolnshire Community Foundation.
The Foundation supports voluntary organisations throughout the county, issuing over a million pounds in grants each year (over £2.6M during the pandemic) to groups that benefit people living in Lincolnshire. They particularly work with smaller / newer initiatives and are often a group’s first funder, offering support and advice as well as financial assistance.
The Foundation’s funds come from multiple sources including wind/solar farm funds, local philanthropists, and public donations. Sue talked about their current campaign, Thrive Lincolnshire, which aims to raise £1 million to be dispersed to organisations alleviating the effects of higher food and fuel prices on the poor. The foundation also has the ability to revitalise dormant community trusts and other assets.
