A number of our Clubs Members visited the Lincoln Headquarters of The Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance Service and came away very impressed – so much so that we decided to hold a fund-raising evening to aid them.
The Air Ambulance costs £13.5 million a year to run and is totally reliant on donations and subscriptions with local or national government funding. As a Club we have supported them financially before, including via a Beetle Drive in 2023.
With this in mind, on the evening of Friday 12th September we held a Beetle Drive at Trusthorpe Village Hall with a total of 32 players and members of our Club assisting, together with Margaret Conyers, Janet McEwan and friends helping with the Lincolnshire Buffet. Margaret’s Grandson George Elsom presided over the end of meal Auction.
We were joined on the night by Steve Tandy (Sutton on Sea’s longstanding Air Ambulance fundraiser) who returned on the 30th of October, along with Charlotte Holland (chief fundraising coordinator from the Wadsworth HQ), for the Club’s Lincolnshire Day celebration. After the meal Club President John Clarke presented Steve and Charlotte with a cheque for the £709 raised.
