A regular feature at any Rotary Club is a speaker evening. This normally involves an invited guest speaking on their specialist subject. This week, our own Chris Drew shared on the subprime mortgage crisis. To many people this would be a subject of little interest but Chris presented a fascinating and well researched talk on the causes that combined to create the biggest global recession since the second world war. Furthermore, those bankers in the know made substantial profits by selling on toxic assest to their customers and then betting those same assets would fail. Chris’s presentation provided great insight and showed that the warning signs were very clear well in advance of the crash.
Rotary’s speakers bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our meetings. If you would like to find out more about Rotary please contact us.
