This weekend Rotarian Sanjay Pilani invited the club to his new restaurant, Indian Spice, on Mablethorpe’s High Street for a buffet meal. Many locals will already know Sanjay as the owner of the Empire Garage Petrol Station. Around 30 Rotarian’s and their guests attended and enjoyed an excellent 3 course buffet meal.
Sanjay’s brother, Uday Pilani, also came to meet us all as he is the Club President for the Hyderabad club in Southern India. Uday’s club has seen membership grow from 60 to 90 members in the last year reminding us all that Rotary is being embraced all around the world with much of it’s growth coming from developing and newly developed countries.
Since we ate as Sanjay’s guests we elected to donate some money to the Rotary cause of Sanjay’s choice. He chose Rotary’s project to eradicate Polio from earth and, boosted by Sanjay’s friend’s and relatives generous donations, we were delighted to have raised £571.
