This December sees the fifth Rotary “Come and Sing” Christmas Carol Concert in Mablethorpe taking place on Monday 19th December and it promises to be one of the best. The concert is once again at our new home of The Dunes Complex with thanks to Rotarian Paddy Prince.
The evening begins at 6-45 with the excellent Alford Silver Band playing as the public take their seats for a 7pm start.
The first half focusses on the audience singing favourite carols and includes a contribution from Sutton on Sea School Choir. They were last our guests at our very first carol concert.
After the interval we begin to move from carols to favourite Christmas songs. Our guests in this part of the programme are the Sutton on Sea W.I. Choir who regularly enter singing competitions but it is their first time at our concert.
Our very special guest is “Father Christmas” who will arrive, provided his reindeer satnav works, as we sing “Rudolph” and “Jingle Bells.” As always he will have a present for each child.
At the end of the concert, around 9-15pm, Rotarians will take a “blanket collection” for Rotary projects in the Mablethorpe and Alford area. The appreciative audience have always been very generous.
