Rotarian Roy Cunnigham’s Job Talk

Rotarian Roy Cunnigham

When a new Rotarian joins our club we ask them to give a brief talk about their life and career to help us all get to know them. Last night it was the turn of Roy Cunnigham.

Roy’s career started out in the Navy followed by more time at sea on various commercial vessels. As an engineer Roy worked with high pressure pipework typically 10″ and greater in diameter used to move steam, hydraulic oil etc. Such piping is only required in large projects so Roy spent a lot of time working away from home in places like Prisons, Airports and Nuclear Power Plants.

Now retired, Roy has moved from Wandsworth to Sutton on Sea and is enjoying the friendly atmosphere and more relaxed pace of life describing it as ‘a different world’. Roy has 2 daughters and 3 grandsons to keep him busy but he has already proven himself to be an enthusiast and active Rotarian.
