We were joined at last weeks meeting by the Revd Ros Latham who spoke on behalf of a local teenager Amelia Maycock.
Amelia is a member of the Horncastle Power-lifting Club and broke 4 under sixteen British records last year in her weight category. In March Amelia wants to compete for Team GB in the European Classic Open, Junior and Sub-Junior Power-lifting Championships in Denmark.
Because of Amelia’s age she must travel with a parent which increases the travel and accommodation costs for which there is no funding.
Our club was pleased to help Amelia with a donation of around £175 from a mixture of club funds and the time honoured method of a glass passed around the room.
