KidsOut is a charity that provides disadvantaged children with positive, confidence building experiences. Since 1990, Rotary in the UK has supported its efforts with the National Rotary KidsOut Day when many clubs, including our own, arrange and fund a trip in their area.
Last week, and for the first time since the national lockdowns, we were privileged to take 32 local children along with their teachers, parents and carers, for a day out at Butlins in Skegness. Rotarians (pictured left to right) Judi Rastall, Kath Hayes and President John Clarke came along to help out and a fun time was had by all.
The cost of the trip was significantly higher than our last in 2019, which goes to show KidsOut is more important than ever with family budgets stretched by high food and energy prices.
Thanks to Butlins Skegness who, once again, gave us free access to their facilities, to Empire Garage in Mablethorpe who donated bottles of water to keep everyone hydrated and to Hunts Coaches in Alford who provided the transport at a reasonable rate.
