This week fell around halfway through the Rotary year and Kath Hayes’ Presidency, so it was time to reflect on the last six months, and present our half year reports.
As ever, our small club had been very busy, and visiting AG Ian Steltner approved of our achievements and plans for the rest of the year, with the sentiment of his feedback being ‘keep doing what you are doing’.
We also enjoyed hosting 5 members from the Rotary Club of Cleethorpes visiting us on their Scatter Week. It was particularly nice to see Roger Banfield, who had been our treasurer before moving away in 2023.
There was further cause for celebration when President Kath Hayes presented Judi Rastall with the Paul Harris Fellowship award. Despite being recently elected as a Town Councillor, and volunteering for several other groups in Sutton on Sea, Judi makes the time to support virtually every activity the club takes on. A well deserved recognition for one of the Club’s hardest working Rotarians!
The Paul Harris award is given to show that a person has gone far beyond the call of duty. Judi was our Club President for two years during the Pandemic and carried us through until life became a little more normal again. She gives of her time to help organise and run events, always makes herself available whenever she is needed and helps our club to keep in touch with other local organisations. She is truly a ‘star’ in our Club.
