Each year every Rotary Club has a meeting known as Club Assembly where the incoming committee chairs share their ambitions and goals for the following 12 months.
We held our Club Assembly last night which was attended by Nanette Chapman, the incoming District Assistant Governor for our area (pictured above). Nanette approved of our plans which she considered to be an interesting, varied and fun programme. She wished the vocational committee luck in their ambition to learn more about our local Town, District and County Councils possibly even culminating in a visit from our MP. The membership committee was praised for intending to target ‘active members’ rather than ‘younger members’ which are not necessarily the same thing. It was also noted that as a club we continue to support long established projects which can so easily fall out of the limelight despite providing vital assistance or services.
Overall we think the club passed it’s test and it was a very positive evening – full of laughter as always. If you’d like to get involved in some of our projects this year why not enquire about joining the club?
Our next meeting is know as Club Handover when the current President, Nigel Collins (pictured left), formally stands down to our incoming President, David Brailsford (pictured right) and the new committee chairs formally adopt their roles.
