For the past few years our club has ran the Sutton on Sea Christmas Festival and we have been assisted on the day by the young adults from Mablethorpe’s Community Learning In Partnership (CLIP).
The Mablethorpe CLIP is one of three learning centres in Lincolnshire that offer a wide range of training courses for school leavers and adults of all ages. Of particular interest is the FLARE programme which supports school leavers to make the step to higher education or employment. Sometimes the individual will simply need to gain, for example, a GCSE in Maths or English that they didn’t attain in school but it’s also about developing confidence and social skills. You can see some of CLIP’s successes on their Facebook Page.
We paid a lightning visit to the CLIP in Mablethorpe yesterday to present them with a cheque for £100 to say thank you for their help. We understand the money will go towards a trip they are planning related to their studies. Pictured alongside the students are Club President Nigel Collins handing over the cheque along with Rotarian Sanjay Pilani.
