On the 25th of June, at the Alford Manor House, semi-retired solicitor Geoff Allen became the President of The Rotary Club of Alford and Mablethorpe taking over from David Brailsford.
Geoff is keen to shake things up a bit and ensure we have a very active year. Other key roles saw Kath Hayes take over the role of secretary with Roger Banfield continuing as treasurer.

Before stepping down outgoing president David Brailsford handed out some awards. Rotarian John Handley received Rotary’s most prestigious award, the Paul Harris, for his tireless efforts supporting the club in all it’s endeavours of many years. The Presidents Plate was awarded to Rotarian John Conyers who also quietly ensures a lot of things we take for granted ‘just happen’.
In a packed evening we also inducted two new members.
Rotarian Debbie Willson from Helsey Farm (livery yard) should have plenty of relevant skills to offer having previously been a project manager for several major charities including St Johns Ambulance, the Salvation Army and Age UK. Debbie has also been a member of a Rotary Club before moving to Lincolnshire.
Rotarian Christine Sears comes recommended as an active Parish Councillor for Anderby and joins us in place of her husband Brian who had become over committed with too many voluntary commitments.
What a great start to a new Rotary year!
