2019 Club Assembly

Club Assembly 2019 - Colin Scott

Tonight was our ‘Club Assembly’ when the incoming President, assisted by his committee chairs, briefed the club on their intentions for the next 12 months. The District Assistant Governor for the area visits the club to hear our plans and offer guidance, feedback and support.

Our incoming President, Geoff Allen, gave a thorough report covering the areas of work the club will be tasked with. The list is too long to reproduce here but covers area’s including:

  • Community work (supporting local groups, causes and events)
  • Raising money for Foundation (Rotary’s global charity), Polio Eradication and Peace projects
  • International projects (buying Shelterboxes, Lifestraws and support our partners in India)

Although many of our activities are the continuation of long running projects the details were not skipped over, as is often the case, in recognition of the fact that we have quite a few new members who are not yet up to speed with all our activities.

Concluding the evening our area’s District Governor, Colin Scott, offered his support for our programme and reminded us that we are a very healthy club with a past, and present to be proud of.

We look forwards to a busy year using our professional skills to serve both our local and global community.
